Weโ€™re hiring Audit Seniors for our industry leading and rapidly growing Digital Currency Practice in either our East Hanover, NJ or New York City offices. Friedman is proud to be at the forefront of this emerging industry, providing digital currency services to both domestic and international clients. Our expertise enables digital currency and distributed ledger technology companies, from start-ups to mature businesses, knowing that their accounting, reporting, and tax compliance requirements are properly managed and assessed. As we have been the leader of auditing the emerging industry, we continue to expand our practice fueled by new client acquisitions and the growth of our existing client businesses - so the opportunity is limitless. Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
  • Perform PCOAB and AICPA audits and reviews for clients in the digital currency and blockchain technology industries
    • Our clients include financial institutions, funds, broker dealers, exchanges, custodians, mining companies, token issuers, etc.
  • Perform private to public transactions for digital currency and blockchain technology companies.
  • Assist in developing industry best practices for auditing standards for a new and constantly evolving asset class
  • Participate in industry events and working groups
  • Coordinate the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate/test internal controls
  • Understand accounting and reporting standards, experience in researching as it relates to accounting and audit issues
  • Act as client contact; communicate effectively with clients and develop positive relationships with client personnel
  • Communicate with Managers and Partners on work status and client issues that arise
  • Perform a detailed review of team's workflow and monitor that tasks are assigned and completed on a timely basis
  • Supervise, train and mentor audit staff
  • Take a lead role in client and team meetings and contribute new ideas and strategic initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience in a similar role overseeing, planning, and reviewing engagements; supervising staff, interacting with clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic accounting issues and conduct accounting research on moderately complex matters
  • Interest in learning about the digital currency and blockchain technology industries and participating in industry events and working groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of, or experience with digital currencies
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Accounting
  • CPA License or on track to obtain
  • 1+ yearsโ€™ supervisory experience
  • 2+ yearsโ€™ experience with SEC issuers in the financial services industry under US GAAP
  • Software Experience โ€“ CCH ProSystem, Microsoft Office 365
