Job Description

The Financial Crimes Technology team at Block finds and reports financial crimes activity across Block products like Cash App and our Seller tools. They work globally with partners in engineering and counsel to guarantee weโ€™re meeting our regulatory requirements, customer experience, and agent experience expectations.

As the Model Risk Management Lead youโ€™ll work closely with the Financial Crimes Modeling teams as well as the Compliance organization at Block to manage our risk around regulatory monitoring. Youโ€™ll help shape our direction around model lifecycle management, the model control framework, model risk assessments, model governance, and model risk technology. Strong compliance domain experience and technical skills will position you for success.

You Will
  • Manage 5 areas of responsibility around model risk.
  • Work with the financial crimes engineering and machine learning teams to manage model risk
  • Communicate important developments, updates, and problems to Compliance stakeholders
  • Shape processes for efficiency and scale within the Compliance organization.
You Have

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of experience in compliance model risk at a fintech or bank
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical, cross-teams
  • A passion for pushing boundaries and questioning the status quo
  • Bonus: Desire to work in Fintech, Regtech, and Blockchain technology

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidateโ€™s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $184,100 - USD $225,000

Zone B: USD $184,100 - USD $225,000

Zone C: USD $184,100 - USD $225,000

Zone D: USD $184,100 - USD $225,000
