About the job
People Director – Art/Technology/NFT
£110,000-£140,000 (depending on experience)
Fully remote or London-based
We have been retained to find a Head of People role for a tech driven, international Art business. You'll be working closely with a fantastic Head of Talent Acquisition that we recently placed, and also working closely with a highly experienced, fun and quirky leadership team. This business works in the NFT / E-Commerce / Crypto / Bitcoin space and their Technology function is expanding rapidly. The tech function includes data scientists, data engineers, coders, full stack developers, PHP and back-end developers.
They are now looking for a Head of People to work closely with the CEO, management team and employees on a range of areas but mainly on the retention strategy of high-quality Technology people. This will be a hands-on, operational role covering the entire lifecycle from performance, on-boarding, off-boarding, employee experience, culture & values, and general people operations, payroll, policies and processes improvement.
We are looking for someone who is happy to be very hands-on. There is literally nothing in place at the moment – no assessment criteria, no real org structure, no compensation strategy, no performance management process, etc. The organisation is relatively flat and with a family feel and no official job titles. They are looking for someone who can come in, wrap their arms around the business, problem solve and think of lots of creative ideas to innovate and professionalise their business from a people perspective.
This is a rapidly growing and changing environment operating in a really interesting space – creating a new business in the NFT world. There is a lot happening so this would appeal to someone who is an organiser of chaos, and who wants to build something from scratch. We are looking for someone that deeply understands technologists, how to work well with them, and ideally someone who understands or is at least interested in the crypto / NFT world.
The CEO is fantastic, and he likes people who are conscientious, contactable, down to earth, smart, hardworking and proactive. He’s ultimately looking for someone that he will work really well with, that will build a really strong relationship with him and know how to efficiently communicate with him. He is an extremely interesting and astute businessman, very down to earth and humble, but also direct and extremely busy, so he appreciates effective communicators!
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience of working in a number one HR role in a rapidly-scaling tech, environment is essential
- Proven success developing Retention and Development strategies for Tech populations
- Strong background in People Operations
- Thorough knowledge of relevant employment law and regulations, including visa sponsorship processes
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders & drive change
- Strong negotiation, organisational and consultative skills
- Credibility and gravitas to easily win the trust of hiring managers
- Positive and enthusiastic personal style; clear and articulate communicator at all levels
- Commercially aware, able to link HR strategies to business performance
If you are really passionate about Tech and Art, and wants to hep grow and scale a business, work directly with an amazing CEO and developing a fantastic team, this could be your dream role.
