Overview


Storj is pioneering cloud storage and Web3 with the world's first decentralized cloud object storage network with enterprise SLAs. Storj is looking for a Developer Relations Lead to create engaging developer content that drives adoption of our decentralized cloud object storage service.  Your background is in cloud infrastructure and most recently you have had a developer relations role. . You understand what developers like (and donโ€™t) about a cloud infra stack; what gets them excited about trying a new technology, and how they want to learn about a new technology. You know this because youโ€™ve been a developer. You understand cloud architecture, you have experience with distributed systems, you have experience creating developer-centric content. You will be an advocate for Storj, demonstrating its benefits along with open source and Web3 decentralized ethos to developers around the world, with sample code, tutorials, demos, virtual/irl speaking engagements. You will be the technical thought leader within our growing 200,000-strong community and reach out to new technical audiences. You like to seek out new communities to learn and share. You love to participate in hackathons, virtual events, webinars, meetups and write technical blogs. You are hands-on-code, jump in to assist communities, to help them build applications and move data to Storj.

Skills and Attributes:


The ideal candidate has a proven track record in successfully managing and creating developer content and an engagement program; you will have experience on โ€˜both sides of the blogโ€™. You may have been a developer, cloud engineer, or a solutions architect. You have been a part of a DevRel team or lead one.  You live in CLI to work with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, data management tools (databases, big data).  You care deeply about privacy and security and can talk about strong encryption and PKI. You have worked with open source tools such as MinIO. You know cloud storage protocols such as S3.  You enjoy digging into cutting edge decentralized and Web3 technology like IPFS, enabling the next generation of DeFi networks, privacy-centric and edge applications. You may also have experience with crypto, ethereum, and other decentralized internet projects. You thrive on engaging with your developer peers and collaborating with them, showing them, bridging the gap between Web2 to Web3. Youโ€™re an evangelist.


Responsibilities:


  • Code and build projects that showcase the privacy, security, and other benefits of Storjโ€™s decentralized cloud object storage service. 
  • Publish content about Storjโ€™s offerings including technical blogs, guides, documentation, code samples, tutorials, videos, podcasts, etc. 
  • Actively reach out to established and new communities and nurture relationships with developers to work with them and to understand their needs, and onboard to Storj. 
  • Present to developers at tradeshows, webinars, hackathons, and other events both in-person and online. 
  • Support developers on our forum and other communities with issues they encounter while integrating with Storj. 


Qualifications:


  • Experience as a DevRel leader or part of a DevRel Team. Demonstrable experience building relationships with developers and developer communities, either your own companyโ€™s or outreach to other communities. 
  • Experience as a developer, cloud engineer, or a solutions architect as well as experience with CLI to work with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, data management tools (databases, big data) and you have direct experience in cloud infrastructure, familiarity with cloud storage protocols such as S3. 
  • Experience with open source, storage, security, Web3 protocols and tools such as minIO, S3, IPFS, PKI, encryption. 
  • Familiarity with S3 ecosystem and tier 1 and tier 2 cloud storage providers (Wasabi, Backblaze, Cloudflare, AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Advanced and prolific technical writing with experience presenting to and influencing technical audiences.
  • Have a GitHub repo you can share and comfortable with new languages and frameworks such as GO, C, Node JS.
  • Ability to work with developers to earn their trust and assist them with projects. 
  • Enjoy meeting new people, socializing, engaging in person and online. Willingness to spend 25-50% of your time traveling (when travel is safe)โ€”both domestic and internationalโ€”to tradeshows, conferences, and meetups subject to pandemic-related travel restrictions. This includes weekends on occasion.
  • Have an establishedโ€”or willingness to establishโ€”professional presence on social media, forums, and other communities of developers.
  • Experience with Web3 technology, crypto, ethereum, and other decentralized internet projects is helpful
