The Opportunity:

Uphold is actively seeking a Senior Accountant to assist the Accounting Department with preparation of financial information. The Senior Accountant will interact with a diverse group of internal and external clients. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize workload to ensure highest value and best services are provided.

The Senior Accountant must be a team player who can interact with a diverse internal and external client group. The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail and the necessary judgment to plan and prioritize tasks efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing Primarily:

  • Process Bank Transactions: Record bank transactions to ERP system & reconcile balances at end of each month-end
  • Process Invoices and Payments: Receive and verify the validity of an invoice by forwarding it to the staff member who ordered the merchandise/service. The staff member verifies the accuracy of billing on the invoice by approving it. Proper coding of the general ledger expense account is verified and approved by the Department Manager.
  • Payroll Accounting: Process payroll and book corresponding journal entries.
  • Month End: Prepare and complete all items listed on the AP month end checklist by the due date. Compile and send out monthly intercompany transactions. Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Audit Requests: Assist Senior members of the Finance team with Internal and External audits.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration/Finance preferred and-or equivalent school and work experience may be considered.
  • CPA preferred
  • 2+years of accounting experience
  • Excellent abilities in MS Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter and a team player.
  • Have a positive outlook and a general happy disposition.
  • Nice-to-haves:
  • Public Company Audit experience
  • NetSuite or similar product experience
  • Experience with Expensify/SAP Concur
  • Experience overseeing technical audits
  • Fintech/SaaS experience
